HOBBS & SHAW – “Fast & Furious Presents: HOBBS & SHAW”, and coming from this franchise that everything has to be larger than life. The action has to be unbelievable, and this time its the outside guys that unite for a mission, where Dwayne Johnson & Jason Statham play the roles of “HOBBS & SHAW”. You get to see Idris Elba as the villain in the middle, that is half robotic like, “IRON-MAN”. The film gets over the top, and the climax ends up in a small Samoan Island to show Dwayne Johnson’s nationality. It feels like a live animated “Moana” episode with the family in a action montage that gets way over the top. The plot has been extracted from many previous action films, and Bond films.This time there is a virus that needs to be detained and extracted. If obtained by the wrong people, it will become a global catastrophe. At present that deadly virus has been injected into a human. That for me kills the film. Its so unreal and has been done to death. As a result the action looses its charm with the audience. Good luck with this franchise. The film gets a 2 and a half star recommendation.
