Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ex-boyfriends Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi seem to be on the verge of mending their relationship.
Salman Khan has won over innumerable people with his Sultan act, but this one name might come as a surprise even to the Dabangg star. Vivek Oberoi, who once held a press conference to say how Salman was threatening him for being Khan’s ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai’s boyfriend, is all praise Salman and Sultan now.
“It is great to see a big star (referring to Salman) going out and taking such a different kind of a role (wrestler in Sultan), different subject and doing so well with it. We should praise every good film and be happy for a successful film as it’s one industry,” Vivek told PTI.
Salman and Vivek’s animosity dates back to 2003, when Oberoi had called a presser alleging that a drunk Salman had called him up 41 times, abusing and threatening him to come over to his house and kill him over his friendship with Aishwarya.
The Saathiya actor later apologised to Salman, but the latter did not acknowledge the gesture. The two actors have since been careful about avoiding each other in public.
Oberoi is yet to see Sultan, but he is happy with its success.
The Ali Abbas Zafar-directed Sultan, also starring Anushka Sharma in the lead, is gallopping towards the Rs 200-crore club. The film hit the screens on July 6.
“I haven’t seen Sultan, but I have heard it’s fantastic. When I saw the trailer, I loved it. I am really happy for the whole team, for the phenomenal success, as it’s good for the industry. And such kind of mass response and appreciation is humongous. I think it has done Rs 35-36 crore on day one and Rs 36-37 crore on day two and it’s fantastic,” the 39-year-old Vivek said, adding that he will watch Sultan soon.
“I will definitely go to a theatre and watch the film,” he said.
Salman Khan has managed to impress many people with Sultan, given the amount of hard work that he put in in getting into the shoes of the titular character, the wrestler Sultan Ali Khan.
