Deepika Padukone and Fawad Khan take the ramp for Manish Malhotra

On Wednesday evening, Manish Malhotra presented his collection, ‘The Persian Story’, inspired by the architecture of the fabled land. We spotted the drop shoulder blouse, which has become something of a Manish Malhotra staple on the runway. This time, the MM bride dropped her dupatta in favour of bare clavicle. The lehengas however remained monumentally opulent and by way of sheer size and embellishment—heavy to say the least.
The show opened with actor Fawad Khan and Deepika was the showstopper. Check out the video to see the designer and Padukone talk about each other, and narrate the story of how she came to walk the runway for him. “It was meant to be,” says Malhotra.
