Dabangg 3 will be directed by ace choreographer Prabhudheva
Superstar Salman Khan is undoubtedly one of the busiest actors in B-Town. The 52-year-old actor was last seen in Race 3, which performed decently at the box office. Salman has just started the shooting of Bharat, which is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar who earlier directed films like Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Apparently, Salman will simultaneously shoot for Dabangg 3, in which he will return as the kickass cop, Chulbul Pandey. While earlier, the makers were eying to release the third installment of the Dabangg franchise during the Christmas weekend on December 21 or 28, they are now eyeing the Republic day weekend in 2019.
Now, the twist is that four films have already booked this date, which are Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30, Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Emraan Hashmi’s Cheat India and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Thackeray. So if Dabangg 3 also adds to the list, it will easily become one of the biggest clashes of all-time in Bollywood. Interestingly, Republic Day weekend is generally booked by Akshay Kumar, who has released his films like Baby and Airlift during this period.
On the other hand, Super 30 will be Hrithik’s second Republic Day weekend release after 2017’s Kaabil, which had clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees at the box office. Coming back to Dabangg 3, the film will be produced by Salman’s brother Arbaaz and will be directed by ace choreographer Prabhudheva. It will mark the second collaboration between the actor and director after 2009’s hit Wanted. As per our sources, the third part will showcase the backstory and will be more like a prequel to the earlier two parts. Sonakshi Sinha will also have a cameo in the masala entertainer. Anyway, do you think the makers should change the release date to avoid the box office clash?
