Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most popular and long-running shows of Indian television. It has been running successfully for 10 years and has always managed to grab a place among the top 10 shows of BARC India’s viewership list. The show never fails to crack you up. The unique combo of Jethalal Champaklal Gada (Dilip Joshi) and Daya Ben (Disha Vakani) leave everyone in splits with their jokes and the audience was left heartbroken when Disha took a maternity leave. Fans have been eagerly waiting for her return. However, according to the latest reports, the actress has hiked her fee.
A DNA report suggests that the actress has agreed to return only if the makers accept her terms and conditions. She was previously paid Rs 1.25 lakh per episode but now she has quoted a whopping Rs 1.5 lakh per episode. This is not it…Disha has also put forth a condition to work only for 15 days, and between 11 am to 6 pm. The show recently went through a change and due to Kavi Azad’s demise, they brought back Nirmal Soni for the character of Dr Hathi. Now, it will be interesting to see if the makers agree to the actress’ price hike or not.
Earlier, rumours were rife that the actress might be quitting the show, but producer Asit Kumar Modi had told TOI, “The shooting conditions are tough and since Disha’s baby is still very young she needs her. We haven’t discussed about her return yet and there is no official confirmation on Disha quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma.” Disha had tied the knot with Mayur Padia in November last year and they were blessed with a baby girl recently. They have named their daughter Stuti.
