Ariana Grande totally stole the ‘Tonight Show’ when she stopped by on Sept. 19 and crushed her performance of ‘Jason’s Song.’ When the singer serenaded the audience with her Broadway-influenced ballad, she ended up totally making us bawl. Get the full scoop on Ariana’s act here!
Ariana Grande, 23, gave an epic performance of her track “Jason’s Song” on the Sept. 19 episode of The Tonight Show and totally left Jimmy Fallon, and us, in awe. We know Ariana has the most amazing pipes, but with The Roots and Tony award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown backing her up, she was absolutely unbelievable. The singer belted out the ballad with her hair in a long, high ponytail and adorable glasses perched on her nose. She even did a sultry little strut on stage when Jason took it away with a solo on the piano. So cute!
Earlier in the day, the “Side To Side” singer explained via Instagram that the song, which Jason wrote, meant a lot to her. “honored to be performing a song that means so much to me, Jason’s Song on Fallon tonight with JRB and The Roots (my brain / heart can’t handle sharing the stage w so much musical geniusness at once tbh)… Thank you Jason for sharing this with me… for always bringing me back to my roots and for showcasing my voice the way I feel it’s truly meant to be heard. I love you,” Ariana wrote. How sweet is that?
Following her performance she tweeted just how much she enjoyed it. “That was my favorite performance i’ve ever done i think. thanks @MrJasonRBrown for using my voice the way it’s meant to be heard. love you,” Ariana tweeted. Whoa. Well, Jimmy, you should feel lucky that the “Dangerous Woman” singer has apparently never enjoyed a performance as much as the one she did on your show! Congrats, all around!
