It didn’t even had to wait till April 28 to create records. Relax, we will tell you what all the film has already registered. Prepared to be amazed…
#Highest number of screens ever
Baahubali 2 will release in 9000 screens across India. Yes, that’s the number. The maximum any film had was 4500 screens. In fact, Baahubali itself got 4000 screens. Of course, it includes release in all languages. With 9000 screens, the film is now expected to earn even more than the previous film. This time the possibility is even more since there is no Salman khan film to contest with, like the first film had. Despite all that, the Hindi version alone had earned more than Rs 100 crore. As per reports by Sreedhar Pillai, producers are likely to earn a profit of Rs 400-500 crore from theatrical rights, endorsements, merchandise and other rights. It’s now not only the most talked about movie but also the most profitable film till date.
#Pre-release earnings of Rs 500 crore
Baahubali 2 has already raked in Rs 500 crore even before its release. Wow, now this is a record, no movie can boast of. The movie will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and for each of its version, distributors have paid a record price. As per figures presented by Ramesh Bala, the Hindi version, (that will be distributed by Karan Johar) has fetched a whopping Rs 120 crore. The Tamil version has raked in Rs 47 crore, and the Karnataka rights, Rs 45 crore and Kerala rights, a record breaking Rs 10 crore. The Telugu rights from all states together have minted Rs 130 crore. Internationally, the North American rights have fetched a whopping Rs 45 crore. The cost of US distribution rights is yet to be disclosed. Apart from this, its satellite rights have also added to his enormous amount – The Hindi dubbed version has been snapped at Rs 51 crore, while the original Telugu version at Rs 26 crore. This magnum opus is clearly going places already.
#50 million views to the trailer in 24 hours
The trailer has clocked in a whopping 50 million views ( 5 crore views) in just within 24 hours. Yes, that’s the number this magnum opus achieved within a day. What’s more, it has beaten Rajinikanth’s Kabaali, Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees. Rajinikanth’s Kabali has clocked in 4, 52,69,393 views in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi so far, a number Baahubali managed to beat within a day. As for Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, it has clocked in 51,131,258 views so far post its release on December 6. We can also be fair and compare Raees’ Hindi trailer to Baahubali’s Telugu trailer, and Baahubali would still have beat the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer as Raees had clocked in 10M views within a day, while the Telugu trailer had clocked in 20M views. Baahubali 2 has managed to even beat Dangal’s YouTube views. So far Dangal has achieved – 5,34,36,856 views in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil ( dubbed) versions.
#Highest ticket prices ever
Baahubali 2 will be a raging hit for sure if the ticket prices are anything to go by. Rs 2400 is the max you will pay in Delhi if you want to watch the film luxuriously. That’s the most expensive ticket ever in the history of Indian Cinema. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’s tickets were sold at Rs 2200 and now Baahubali 2 has beaten that too.
