The art deco hangout is known as the epicentre of all the A-list activity in Cannes and I was thrilled to be asked to enjoy the star treatment like all the celebrities staying her thanks to the fashion designer Gyunel.
Since starting her label the Azerbaijan-born designer has had everyone from Yasmin and Amber Le Bon, Ella Eyre and Little Mix star Perrie Edwards wear her couture gowns.
And she has made quite the impression on the French Riviera for the past two years having sponsored the A-List drenched de Grisogono event at the Cannes Film Festival. Last year Sharon Stone was the guest of honour but this year they pulled out all the stops to have the best guest list of the festival.
And Gyunel also had a rather special idea for the Daily Mirror as she planned to dress me for the party.
On a trademark Cannes hangover following a night of partying at the Chopard event, I arrived at the Martinez to be met for my fitting by one of Gyunel’s fashionable assistants.
Within minutes, and without a scrap of Hollywood glamour, I was whisked into the brand’s dressing room and shown the current collection.
