Christina Grimmie has won her first-ever Teen Choice Award at the 2016 awards show on July 31, and it was definitely an emotional moment. The late singer won the coveted surfboard beating out four other stars. See which award she was honored with.
Christina Grimmie, 22, won the award for Choice Web Star: Music Honor at the TCA’s held at The Forum in Inglewood, CA. This marks the late singer’s first-ever TCA award, and we’re sure her fans are beaming with excitement over her win. She beat out huge digital star’s like Chloe X Halle, MattyBRaps, Cimorelli and Johnny Orlando.
The singer, who rose to fame as a contestant on season six of The Voice and came in third place while part of Adam Levine‘s, 37, team, was shot and killed at a meet and greet for one of her concerts June 10, 2016. An autopsy report was completed, concluding her cause of death was due to “gunshot wounds” to her head and chest. She also made close friendships with stars like Selena Gomez, 24.
