We bet Amitabh Bachchan‘s this remark might just spark up a heated debate. The Pink actor however is on a headline making spree as BollywoodLife interviews the actor along with his film’s presenter Shoojit Sircar. Big B is not called a megastar for no reason, his presence, aura and that famous baritone voice has various effects on you. Mr Bachchan can bowl you with his energy, mesmerise you with his gift of gab and stand really tall literally in every possible way. After doling out multiple interviews Amitabh Bachchan finally arrived to the BollywoodLife set-up fresh out of another interview. He seemed a little upset at being behind schedule and even asked to ring up his office to inform that his other commitments would either be delayed or then postponed for another day. And yes, he was hungry and may be tired (coz even if he was there was no trace of it). I do not know if it was Amitabh Bachchan’s last phone call or then the fact that he was starving, but I wanted to wrap up my interview asap. But alas! It’s impossible when you have a showman of his stature before you.
Amidst all the hullabaloo of our camera team arranging the frames and light there was a Buddha too present in the same room – Shoojit Sircar. He was calm, flashing the most composed and knowing smile, after all he was privileged to work with the actor many a times in the past. And suddenly my nerves relaxed, it was almost like Shoojit had the effect a tranquilizer effect on you. You knew that here was a man who had worked with a stalwart like Sr Bachchan. And yes, in the very beginning of my interview Mr Bachchan showed that he’s a senior star. Coz when I paid him a compliment about taking up challenging roles unlike some other stars who play to the gallery, Big B defended his industry colleagues and even bet that every actor is game for challenging roles.
The actor in our interview request Shoojit Sircar to follow Shah Rukh Khan’s suit and get the actresses name ahead of his in credit titles. He also revealed that his Piku co-star Deepika Padukone was paid more than him for the film. And added, “That says two things – one that Deepika Padukone is more important than me. And two that I’ve lost my price scale. I’m not that important to get that kind of money.”
