Deepika Padukone is going places. She has been nominated in Teen Choice Awards for her breakthrough role in the Hollywood venture xXx: Return of Xander Cage. She has been nominated in the Choice Action Movie Actress category for essaying the role of badass xXx agent Serena Unger who helps Xander Cage in saving the world in the DJ Caruso directed film. Nominated along with her are her co-stars Nina Dobrev and Ruby Rose, who also had key roles to play in the narrative.
Well, though we would be on top of this world if Deepika bags the trophy, but to be entirely honest chances of that happening look bleak. Nominated in the same category is Gal Gadot, the star of the mega blockbuster Wonder Woman. The movie has made the world a fan of Gal, who has enigmatically played the superhero from the DC universe. Gal is going to be a great competition to Deepika. But we are fans of the Bollywood diva, and can’t help but get our hopes high. All we can fairly say is that…may the best woman win.
While we are talking about Deepika and xXx, we should remember that a sequel is in works. Caruso revealed during a Twitter Q&A that a direct sequel to the film will soon go on floors, with all the characters reprising their roles. One fan, just to be sure, individually pointed out and asked if Deepika will be back. The filmmaker answered in affirmation. So, get ready to see more of Serena Unger in the coming time. We wonder if Neymar will reprise his role as well. That will be one fun addition to the cast.
