In an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, Harshvardhan and Saiyami talk about their much awaited debut film Mirzya
If there’s a star debut that’s eagerly awaited this year then that is Harshvardhan Kapoor’s. From Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor to Sonakshi Sinha or Parineeti Chopra – every time a starkid or someone from the filmi family makes a Bollywood debut there’s hype around it. And this time it’s none other than Sonam Kapoor’s brother Harshvardhan Kapoor who is going to be seen in Mirzya. The film is helmed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra who has given us the unforgettable Rang De Basanti. We don’t know how well the film will score at the box office but what we do know is that Harshvardhan and Saiyami Kher share a crackling chemistry in the film.
In all his interviews so far, what has stood out is the Kapoor lad’s honesty. Be it about his love life or work, Harsh has his mind in the right place and mind you, he doesn’t shy away from giving an opinion about anything and everything. BollywoodLife bring to you Harshvardhan Kapoor UNPLUGGED!
Considering that there is so much hype around Mirzya how are you guys dealing with the pressure?
Harsh: I am absolutely not nervous. There’s no pressure because I have seen the film and it has only exceeded my expectations. We worked really hard before the film went on floors to make sure that it went physically and emotionally right. Yes, it was very challenging because the places in which we shot and the kind of scenes that we shot were extremely physical and then emotional. More than being nervous I am anxious to share the film with everyone because it has outlived my expectations. When you put in a lot of effort in something and when it pays off, that makes you feel extremely happy.
Saiyami: Rakeysh Sir has a very different style of doing a film. Mirzya is a love story but its not a conventional film and these days content has become king. Mirzya has got romance, drama, emotion, massive action scenes and all of that. But the way it’s shot and the execution of it is what makes it totally different and we are very excited to share the film with everyone.
What is Mirzya for you?
Harsh: For me, it’s a complete life-changer!
Saiyami: It’s a complete life changer! For me it was also discovering love. As cliche as it may sound but it really was.
Now that you are a public figure, things are going to be written about about you and people are going to talk about it. So how are you going to deal with all the media attention?
Harsh: I love the attention the media gives so I would never hide anything. It’s in fact great to know that people like you and want to know more about you. So I don’t really find the attention intrusive.

The young Kapoor lad has already got girls swooning with his good looks. And for all those who have been wondering if he’s seeing someone, let us tell you he is NOT! And in fact, unlike other B-townies Harsh would never keep his relationship hidden. Welcome change, right? But considering that it’s only his debut let’s wait and watch if Harsh keeps his word or will end up becoming more secretive once he becomes a star.
