Emraan Hashmi’s Raaz Reboot has a decent weekend as it collects Rs 18.09 crore in 3 days…
The film has a decent start at the domestic markets…
Emraan Hashmi, Gaurav Arora and Kriti Kharbanda’s Raaz Reboot is the fourth film in the HIT franchise and everyone expected the film to be a good watch. Though the film was not as scary as we expected, the people went to watch the film coz of the franchise factor. The movie had a good start on Friday collecting Rs 6.30 crore on day 1. The film then saw a dip and collected just Rs 5.49 crore on day 2. Emraan Hashmi’s Raaz Reboot saw a small growth on day 3 again as it earned Rs 6.30 crore on Sunday to take its total collection to Rs 18.09 crore over the first weekend.
But Raaz Reboot didn’t grow as much trade expected. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed in his tweet, “#RaazReboot doesn’t witness growth on Sun… Single screens better… Fri 6.30 cr, Sat 5.49 cr, Sun 6.30 cr. Total: Rs 18.09 cr. India biz.”
According to our trade experts, Raaz Reboot has performed very well at the single screen theatres. Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor) had told us earlier, “Raaz Reboot is doing well in single screens. The business it (Raaz series) makes is predominantly out of single screens. But Raaz 3 did well everywhere and was Emraan Hashmi’s biggest hit.”
Akshaye had expected the film to earn about Rs 15 crore over the weekend, however looks like it has done much better than he expected. As he revealed to us earlier, “Raaz Reboot has opened to about 20-25 percent in single screens. Raaz Reboot should do around Rs 5 crore on day one. It should do about Rs 15 crore over the weekend.”
But after a good start on Friday, we expected Emraan Hashmi‘s Raaz Reboot to collect a little more than Rs 20 crore in 3 days. But the film didn’t see the expected growth coz of the low word of mouth publicity. Our reviewer saw the film on Friday and he wasn’t impressed. The storyline and fear factor (considering that it was a horror film) was not that great. Emraan’s act was really good and direction was also cool, but the plot wasn’t impressive at all…
However, Raaz Reboot was made on a budget of Rs 20 crore and hence, it will make easily be profitable. But it could have been an even bigger and more profitable film had the content been better.
