Saqib Saleem’s ‘Anandwa’ will go on floors in October this year
Yes! You heard it right!
Bollywood Life got a chance to exclusively interview Saqib Saleem Qureshi and this guy’s infectious energy left us floored! He turned out to be chatty, friendly and was ready to talk about anything under the sun! That’s how we got our hands at this scoop. In the interview, Saqib revealed that he has signed up a film called ‘Anandwa’. It’s a tribute to the cult film Anand(1971) which had Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. Anand is Saqib’s one of the most favourite Hindi films and the idea of Anandwa had him really excited. He will most likely start shooting for the film in October this year.
In this no-holds-bar interview, he talked about his film characters and his upcoming films. Everyone knows that he will be playing a cricketer for the first time in Dishoom on-screen, but did you know he has been a cricket-fan since childhood? He used to have a live size poster of Sachin Tendulkar in his bedroom and he used to talk to poster every night! Believe that or not. He also told us that other than Varun Dhawan and John Abraham’s Dishoom, he has the sequel of Mere Dad ki Maruti in his basket which will go on floors early next year. The proud actor of the franchise calls it his Dhoom! We are also excited for his Dobara, a psychological horror and a remake of the 2013 American breakout hit Oculus, with sister Huma Qureshi. This is first film with his sister and we are seriously excited.The film will release in September this year. He has also signed a ‘sweet romantic’ film which has not been announced by the producers yet. Phew! He is an unapologetically greedy actor and it’s evident from the number of projects in his plate.
In a short span of six years, he has achieved more than what anyone would have expected, considering he calls himself an ‘accidental actor’. Catch him in Dishoom on July 29, 2016.
