This box office battle will surely be an interesting one for the Chinese audience
In the recent times, we have seen that Hollywood biggies have dominated and gave tough time to Hindi films at the domestic market. Now it seems, it might happen at the Chinese box office as well. Apparently, Salman Khan’s 2016 blockbuster Sultan is all set to release in China in the next week i.e. August 31. Interestingly, Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout is releasing on the same date at the ticket windows. Well, we must say this box office battle will surely be an interesting one for the Chinese audience.
Talking about Sultan, the YRF sports drama was one of the biggest hits of 2016 and had earned over Rs 300 crore at the box office. Since Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan performed well in China, we hope Sultan will get the goodwill of that from the Chinese audience. Talking about the story of the film, it narrates the journey of Sultan, an Olympic gold medalist wrestler who retires from the sport after a personal tragedy. He gets another chance to make his dream come true and win the love of his life back, when he is invited to be a part of MMA league. He goes on to become a popular name across the world once again, with his winning streak in the MMA matches, and sets up a blood bank in his village, and eventually reunites with his estranged wife.
On the other hand, Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout, which released a month back, has performed phenomenally well across the world and even at the Indian market. So let’s hope these both films make the box office merrier in China.
