Sara Ali Khan is all set and prepped up for her Bollywood debut, Kedarnath to release on December 07, 2018. Last week, the trailer of the movie dropped in and everyone has been raving about Sara’s resemblance with her mother, Amrita Singh and her girl-next-door expressions in the trailer. We all know that Sara is Saif Ali Khan and his ex-wife, Amrita Singh’s daughter.
Saif and Amrita got separated in the year 2004, and 8 years later, he got married to Kareena Kapoor. As part of the promotions of Kedarnath, in an interview with Red FM, Sara Ali Khan talked about her stepmom, Kareena Kapoor. Revealing how Kareena has influenced her and the one thing she likes the most about her stepmom, Sara said, “Ki woh unki favourite hai. (That she is her own favourite person) ‘Main apni favourite hoon!’ I have grown up watching K3G. I sometimes can’t associate her beyond Poo. It’s really shocking.”
Considering the promotional interviews are Sara’s first public interviews, everywhere she goes, she is asked about Kareena. In fact, during the trailer launch of Kedarnath, Sara reverently spoke of Kareena as to how she has taught her professionalism. Sara shared, “Kareena Kapoor Khan is amazing in the way she works and is extremely professional. If there is anything, I would like to learn from her is the professionalism. I would like to imbibe her professionalism in me.”
Sara will also be seen in the next episode of Koffee with Karan season 6 along with her father, Saif Ali Khan. In one of the promo videos when Karan Johar asked Saif, “The first three questions Saif Ali Khan the father would ask Sara’s boyfriend” and the Bazaar actor replied, “Political views, and drugs” and then Karan interrupted him and said, “Money would be a nice question to ask, I would ask that first.”Saif continued wittily and humorously and said, “Got cash? Take her.” Sara was too embarrassed to hear this, and she could only say, “That sounds so bad.”
In a recent interview Sara was asked if her father, Saif approved of her career choice as an actress. To this Sara replied, “My father used to say I should finish my studies first before entering films. He was fully supportive if I wanted to do films but wanted me to study first. When I got a chance to be a part of ‘Kedarnath’, I liked the script so much I knew I had to do it.”
Even Saif has gone on record to say that he was a bit surprised when he learnt of Sara’s career choice. He had said in an interview, “Why would she want that for herself? Look at where she studied. After having done that, why wouldn’t she want to live and work in New York, rather than do this? I am not looking down on acting, it’s just it is not the most stable profession. And everyone lives in constant fear. And there is no guarantee that despite doing your best, you will succeed. This is not the life, any parent would want for their children.”
He also expressed that he was worried about Sara’s boyfriends and flings, if they happen after she debuts, “What worries me is the kind of relationships she is going to have. Or for that matter, how she will deal with failure – will she get upset and cry about them? These are things that niggle at me. I wouldn’t say I am nervous because I am not living vicariously through her.”
Talking to an online media tabloid, Saif once opened up and shared that he and his ex-wife, Amrita are on the same page when it comes to their daughter. He was quoted as saying, “Amrita and I are on the same page as far as Sara and her acting debut is concerned. We never had any such conversation. I am fully supportive of Sara’s acting ambitions and we discuss things in detail.”
