Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) are in serious danger.

On Sunday, July 24, the Sherlock team released the first teaser for their fourth and probably final season of the series. But before we meet Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch), we have to reckon with James Moriarty ( Andrew Scott) and his well known dialogue, “Miss Me?”
Sherlock is then seen as his iconic intense self, resting his chin on his hands, indicating a moment when the character has ventured into his ‘mind palace’ — a virtual place he runs off to when solving a mystery. “Something’s coming, maybe it’s Moriarty, maybe it’s not,” he says in a voiceover. Next, the teaser gives us a glimpse of every location Sherlock fans are familiar with — the laboratory, the swimming pool where Sherlock, Moriarty and Watson almost faced their death, the couch and, of course, 21 B Baker Street. Considering that this may be the last season of the series, the creators Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and Paul McGuigan seem to be giving us a tour of every place special to the series.
Other than Cumberbatch, we get to meet Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman), Molly Hooper (Louise Brealey), Mary Morstan/Mrs. Watson (Amanda Abbington) and Mycroft Holmes (Mark Gatiss). There is a moment in the teaser when an upset Molly tells Mycroft, “Get out of my house you reptile.” Now, what will that be about?
From the teaser, we know there is a clear and present danger but Sherlock absolutely has no idea what is the danger or who is behind it. But nonetheless, he asks his brother to alert him. “Of what,” a bemused Mycroft asks Sherlock, to which he gives a classic Sherlock reply, “I have absolutely no idea.”
In 2016, team Sherlock released a film where the character imagined himself in London during Victorian times and tried to figure out how Moriarty could have escaped his death using traditional tricks that may or may not have fooled him. But his deduction did not clear whether Moriarty is alive or not.
