Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani-starrer Baaghi 2 has created enough excitement among the fans, thanks to its power-packed trailer and the chartbuster music. Though the film’s latest track Ek Do Teen, a recreation of Madhuri Dixit’s iconic song of the same name from Tezaab, has faced severe backlash from the movie buffs for its treatment and picturisation. Even filmmaker N Chandra said that the revamped version is crass beyond imagination and he is planning to take legal action against the Baaghi 2 makers.
When asked about the negative response that the song is getting, lead actor Tiger Shroff said, “I thought that was expected though. When you touch a remake, you are bound to get mixed reactions. Over here the only idea behind Ek Do Teen was to pay tribute to the legend like Madhuri ma’am. Nobody can match up to her. Let’s put that out there and make it clear. That being said, I think Jacqueline worked very hard and did a good job on her part. Ganesh Acharya did a great job choreographing. He was a dancer in the original song with Madhuri ma’am. So that being said, in no way we were trying to blow our trumpet. That’s not the idea. The idea is to pay homage to Madhuri ma’am and relive the tune of Ek Do Teen.”
When asked whether she was disheartened with Ek Do Teen not getting a good response, Disha said that the song has received a good response which can be justified through its views on the social media. “No, it’s doing so well. How many million views! Look at the positive. Views count. Views matter. It’s got so many views in one day. People are comparing and you can’t compare it to Madhuri ma’am. That is an iconic song. This is just a tribute. It’s nothing even close to her. It’s a modern remix for the people who were probably not even born in that era.”
Apart from the lead cast, Baaghi 2 also stars Randeep Hooda, Manoj Bajpayee and Prateik Babbar in pivotal roles. The film is helmed by choreographer turned director Ahmed Khan and is set to hit the screens on March 30.
