It was a solo night at the Emmys for Tom Hiddleston after his recent breakup from Taylor Swift — but, of course, the actor couldn’t avoid questions about his famous ex. So, where does their relationship stand now? Surprisingly, he revealed the answer to reporters at the show!
When asked if he’s still amicable with Taylor Swift, 26, at the Emmy Awards on Sept. 18, Tom Hiddleston, 35, kept it cool and replied, “Yes. Yes we are,” to People. Unsurprisingly, the actor didn’t elaborate on the relationship, but we’re so glad to hear that there doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between the two!
After a whirlwind, three-month romance this summer, Taylor and Tom split earlier this month. However, before the news broke, we were totally hoping that they would make their red carpet debut at the awards show — how cute would that have been!? But considering the 26-year-old has never walked a carpet with a boyfriend, it’s likely this wouldn’t have gone down even if they were still together…so we probably didn’t miss much!
Tom was up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his role in The Night Manager at the Emmys, and although he lost to Courtney B. Vance from The People Vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, it was still a big night for the Brit. He looked dapper in a midnight blue, Gucci tux, and even got to take the stage to present an award with Priyanka Chopra!
Interestingly, the 35-year-old wasn’t even the only one of Tay’s exes at the show: John Mayer, 38, was also there! However, the musician was playing guitar in the orchestra below the stage, so it doesn’t seem likely that there was an awkward run-in between the two. Oh well — probably for the best!
