Sultan is off to a flying start thanks to Salman Khan’s gold reign over box office and his monopoly over Eid!
Kabir Khan had given two superhits with Salman Khan, while Ali Abbas Zafar struck gold with Sultan!
Sultan is off to a flying start thanks to Salman Khan’s gold reign over box office and his monopoly over Eid!
It is definitely going to be a huge blockbuster, and perhaps the biggest hit of the year, at least, unless Aamir Khan’s Dangal has a few surprise aces hidden in its sleeve! By all looks and we are sure of it, it will definitely be its director, Ali Abbas Zafar’s biggest hit of his career. Ali Abbas Zafar had earlier directed Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Arjun Kapoor’s Gunday. Both his earlier films were hits, but none of them would attain the blockbuster status of Sultan, of course. At this stage, this is still a prediction, but then even a layman can predict Salman Khan’s film’s fate these days!
Having watched Sultan, I can clearly see that Salman Khan has taken a lot of strain in his performance which shows he was quite confident about the director’s storytelling skills. Last time, he has taken so much efforts for a performance, I feel was for Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, both directed by Kabir Khan.
Now that he is going to work with Kabir again next for Tubelight, we do have a feeling that the director will be under a lot of pressure while making Tubelight. First of all he has to make sure that his upcoming film not only beat the records of his own Bajrangi Bhaijaan, but also whatever records Sultan will be making. Since there is no major Bollywood release this month, Sultan surely has a clear field to break major records. There is no guarantee that when Tubelight comes out next year, it will have this open a field!
Also, Salman and Ali Abbas Zafar will be having a comfort level from now on since Sultan turned it to be good, so that may also cause some anxiety pangs for Salman’s Ek Tha Tiger director. We always thought Salman gave his best with Kabir these days, and Sultan proved that this was not the case! So Kabir has to make sure Salman has to better his performance in Tubelight, otherwise Sultan will be his yardstick!
Let’s hope Tubelight will not suffer under these immense expectations and that we can get another enjoyable film from Kabir-Salman duo!
